From teaching to tech to starting MarcoStrat

Hi, I’m Andrew. I started Marcostrat because I love helping people bring new ideas to life. I also come from a family of small business owners, so I understand how challenging it can be to do everything on your own while trying to grow.

 

I’ve worked with businesses of all sizes , from a stint at Microsoft, a couple years at Expedia, four years at Amazon, and finally, an AI startup. Throughout my career, I’ve had an obsession with copywriting and content creation, product marketing, go-to-market strategy, sales enablement, and telling the success stories of customers in ways that build trust and momentum.

I’ve always loved writing and storytelling. I studied English literature at Florida State University, where I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees. I later earned my PhD in the social sciences from the University of Washington. That experience shaped how I think. It taught me how to dig into data to find insights that matter and how to adapt my message to different audiences, whether I was teaching undergrads or publishing in academic journals.

At the beginning of my PhD program, I lost most of my vision and became legally blind. Rather than derailing my goals, it gave me a deeper sense of resilience and purpose. It pushes me to succeed, but it’s also given me a deeper sense of empathy, which shapes how I lead, communicate, and solve problems.

When I’m not working, I love to read, travel, spend time with friends, and play a good game of chess.
